DAILY UPDATES
Sunday, Sept 11th

The first 4 photos are from September 11th. The first pic shows rally driver, sponsor, and chronicler Dave Berghold, of The Last Windup in Bozeman, along with co-driver Paul Manney. Photos 2, 3 and 4 show some of the cars entered, taken at the Pollard Hotel.

Day One

"Well the start day of the rally is complete and we had a little bit of everything in terms of weather. Leaving Red Lodge at about 9: am the skies were partly cloudy and it was a little cool. The sound of Scottish bagpipe and the roar of some of the cars was an interesting juxtaposition. As we approached the Chief Joseph Highway, the weather began to get a bit worse. We were aware of a small section of road that was closed, but we were not necessarily prepared for the snow and rain. Compounding that with a dirt road, the mud made for quite a scene. Pulling into Yellowstone National Park, things seemed to get a little better, but it was not until we were out of the park that the skies cleared." Dave Berghold

Day Two

"We traveled from Gallatin Gateway Montana (just west of Bozeman) having stayed at the Gallatin Gateway Inn. Weather today was significantly better, no rain or snow. The cars made their way through Ennis Montana and then over to the historic town of Virginia City where the folks had a nice stop at the visitors center for a refresher cup of coffee and Danishes. We wound our way through some wonderful roads to have a buffet lunch at the Jackson Hotel in Jackson MT. Leaving there, we were on our way to Deer Lodge for a stop at the Automobile Museum. Then off to our resting place for the evening in Helena MT at The Great Northern Hotel." Dave Berghold
